Summer Reports June 2018
Suraiya has recently sent the reports of the children’s progress for the summer term and I am pleased to report that all the children are doing well. They are following the Bangladeshi national curriculum and have all passed their literacy and numeracy examinations. As the children are only able to attend the school for 3hours
DHAKA VISIT
Joan Ingarfield and Liz Dominey, 2 of the trustees, have visited the children in Dhaka. The children were very pleased and to show them their work and there was party atmosphere as the children sang songs and recited poems for their guests. Hornblow JOGLE

Jane and Duncan BBQ
Fingers crossed for fine weather, as Jane and Duncan are holding a BBQ Friday 15 September to raise funds for Cementing Futures. The Bournemouth SI Club will be out to give support, along with their friends and families. Don ‘t forget your swimsuits as the pool will be open!

Summer BBQ
On a wonderful sunny day, a lunchtime BBQ was held by Jane and Duncan Hume at their home in Bournemouth. Guests enjoyed lovely food cooked by Duncan, salads and puddings prepared by Jane as well as a swim and lots of laughter. Thank you to all who helped raise £225
Curry Evening
The Gate of India, Parkstone, Poole, treated us to some wonderful food and provided a very convivial atmosphere in May. Bournemouth Bay Run
Thanks to Ken Adams and Alec Turner for their sponsored run. With the support of his colleagues, friends and Soroptimists they raised £89.90 which is fantastic and will support a child for 9 months. this was the first time Ken has done a sponsored run, so we hope it won’t be the last. Well Done!

Bournemouth Marathon 2016
We will be running a hydration station near Bournemouth pier all day on Sunday 2 October and would love to see our supporters. Over 3000 marathon runners will be hurtling (or staggering!) past, 17miles into their marathon and will need lots of encouragement and plenty of water, handed out by our team of volunteers. This

Sharing Cake
When visiting Mohammadpur Literacy Centre the children were given cake as well as their nutritional snack as a special treat. The children, of their own accord, wrapped the cake in the serviettes to take home to share with their siblings.

Loving our Uniform

Michael and Nadine’s Visit
Michael Parker, a cardiac physiologist from Southampton, visited the Cementing Futures projects while visiting Dhaka, Bangladesh. Michael raised much appreciated funds for us by running a Marathon in the searing heat in Dhaka which was organised for him by students from the University of Dhaka. Recent Fundraising Events
A Cheese and Wine Tasting Evening was hosted by Julia and Charlie Macmillan in June 2015 which raised nearly £500. A Sausage Sizzle was hosted by Liz and Geoff Dominey in July 2015 which raised nearly £600. A Car Boot sale in August 2015 at Kingston Lacey raised £195.
